Our Services
Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. has lifelong employees in our plumbing department which is a testimony for the commitment we have for plumbing any project in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The range of projects we perform are from small office buildings to 60 story condominiums to complete hospitals and airports. With that, a large percentage of our projects are design/build. We also have many projects completed with a design/assist template. Of course, we also perform plan and spec projects.
BMC hosted the National MCAA Pre-Fabrication Conference in our facility in 2009. This displayed our shop and engineering departments, and the attention to detail that BMC provides.
Systems typically installed by our plumbing department:
- Potable and non-potable water systems
- Sanitary and acid waste & vent systems
- Storm drainage systems
- Fuel oil systems
- Natural gas systems
- Medical gas systems
- Compressed air systems
- Condensate drains
- Fireman breathing air system certified installers
Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. has an HVAC team to compliment its core plumbing business.
In its new facility, BMC has built a pipe and sheet metal fabrication facility with some of the latest technological equipment. Computerized drawings are used to download into production equipment to fabricate sheet metal duct.
To run its fabrication and installations, BMC has assembled in-house personnel who have diverse experience in high rise and lo-rise construction, commercial, laboratory, residential, hotel, and tenant work.
Services offered by BMC are:
- Preconstruction services including budgets and system evaluations
- Lump sum bids based upon detailed estimates
- Design/Build or Design-Assist/Build proposals
- Project management
- Shop fabrication
- Installation of systems
- Start-up and commissioning of systems
Whatever form of contract, BMC consistently applies value engineering and field leadership to help our clients realize maximum cost effectiveness and timely completion of their projects.
To improve quality, control material cost, and increase productivity, our 63,000 square foot fabrication facility is a major factor in the Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. success plan.
Under the direction of our shop foreman, BMC’s fabrication is poised to accommodate all of our field needs. With the BMC philosophy of “What Can’t We Fabricate,” we look to support our field efforts with complete assemblies to meet the ever increasing jobsite schedule demands.
With the introduction of 3D fabrication drawings, BMC is on the cutting edge of integrating the latest engineering technology to enhance our fabrication abilities.
Whether it be cast iron, steel, copper or plastic, the BMC fabrication facility is equipped with the most innovative methods and equipment to produce quality fabrication on time and within budget.
BMC’s detailing department has the most state of the art equipment and industry knowledge to exceed any customer’s expectations.
We have a dedicated and knowledgeable staff with over 100 years of industry experience. Our team can take on any project, whether it is a small office building, skyscraper, hospital or airport.
“What can’t we pre-fabricate?” – that is our detailing motto. Our detailing is so precise we can coordinate and pre-fabricate down to 1/2” copper.
With BMC’s Smart Room, located in our CAD Department, we can manage or hold any BIM/Virtual construction projects. The room has 77” Touch Screen Smart Boards, which are linked together to form one screen. This creates Navisworks 3D model that stretches over 6 feet, which allows us to cover more ground and helps us coordinate faster.
BMC is always up-to-date with the latest technology to keep our projects running efficiently, thus no time is wasted waiting on a file to load. Our 64-bit dual quad core processor computers, which all have 16 GB of memory, 1.5GB video cards, and dual 24” flat screen monitors, are always asking for more. With technology advancing every minute, you can’t afford not to have the most proficient computers on the market.
BMC utilizes a 3D take-off estimating software. How to make it 3D from 2D you ask? The 2D drawing is imported by the software process. Our estimators then trace over the 2D drawing, thus converting the lines into a 3D estimate. This software allows us to be more efficient and competitive with our bids.
Our CAD and estimating software are integrated into one database. This shared database enables our estimators to use the same fittings from the drawing over the estimate. With this integrated database, we can now get prices from multiple CAD files, which has allowed BMC to be one of the few companies out there who can achieve 5D BIM models.
Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. can design and provide professional stamps for your project on plumbing and HVAC systems.
Instead of outsourcing this critical component, we now have the resources on staff to perform our own engineering.
We pride ourselves on working with our customers early in the design stage to help ensure the projects are designed in accordance with the customers’ needs, meeting the efficiency guidelines, acoustical guidelines and codes, all while maintaining the ever important budget.
Our detailing department now details a significant portion of our work in 3D CADD. With this, we have much more latitude in prefabrication of plumbing, HVAC, and piping systems well ahead of any construction schedule.
As we move forward, we have stressed the importance of quality shop drawings to our customers so they understand the importance of prefabrication for their projects. We can help to reduce the manpower spike on projects that would occur if we didn’t prefab. Additionally, the men performing the prefabrication are from the same UA local as the project. We can often use the same men prefabricating who will later be installing the work. This continuous flow from start to finish is very important for the integrity of the installation. Lastly, we are able to react more quickly to changing schedule needs for the project if a significant portion of the work is here and ready to ship well before it is needed in the field.
