Our Facility

BMC is poised to expand and become a major player in the mechanical industry now and in the future.

Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. is located on a five acre site at 873 81st Avenue, Oakland. The original facility, 2.25 acres, had been the former site of E.C. Braun Mechanical, a subsidy of the Sam P. Wallace Co out of Dallas, Texas. Wallace, at one time, was one of the largest mechanicals in the U.S. After the closure of Wallace, the facility was used by steel fabricators until the purchase by the Nurissos LLC in 2007.

The former shop with open sides was completely enclosed. The existing office building was torn down and a new 16,000 square foot, state of the art, office building was built. The outside building facade and patio with fountain, has an Italian faire of stone work and trellis. The front has an array of shrubs. The front gate to the facility is a massive gate made of redwood – stained and lacquered. The facility is protected by cameras and a security system with an studio apartment for security personnel (if ever needed).

Once inside the shop, a pre-fab shop served by overhead cranes, new machines for cutting, grooving, welding, and soldering are apparent. This facility was selected by the National Mechanical Contractors-Association for its 2009 Prefabrication Conference.

In December 2008, BMC acquired the adjacent property, which contained 40,000 square feet of enclosed shop on 2.75 acres. This allowed BMC additional parking, lay down space, storage area, and facility to expand. Within these quarters, a 5,000 square foot Engineering Department with CAD capabilities was constructed along with expanded lunch area, exercise room with bathroom and showers, and a billiard room for relaxation. The Plumbing Department occupies the 20,000 square feet for prefabrication and storage.

The main 60,000 square foot plant is shared by the Sheet Metal Department and Process Piping Division.
